Top 24 Cuba Websites in the World

Havana Journal Inc published the rankings for twenty-four of the top Cuba websites in the world on January 1, 2009.

Just under one hundred Cuba related websites were identified and selected according to an objective review of search engine placement for a number of Cuba related keywords, popularity of the sites, size of sites and number of other ranking factors were used to compile the initial list of candidates to be included in the Cuba Select ranking process.

We did not start out to identify a fixed number of the top Cuba websites in the world, we just eliminated websites if they did not rank well for at least two of the criteria necessary for ranking. The final number of the Cuba Select ranked websites is twenty four site.

The following criteria were objectively reviewed for each of the candidates from the initial Cuba Select list:

There were no restrictions on the Cuba related websites that were selected. They could be from any country including Cuba, could be private, government or publicly funded but all must be predominately Cuba oriented. Newspapers, guides and general tourist forums were not eligible since Cuba is only a small part of their content.
